Powder coating

JD Rims offer a full comprehensive service. From our unit in Staplehurst, Kent we are able to restore your alloys back to looking like new.

The process

  • The wheels are fully inspected for buckles and cracks.
  • All tyres removed.
  • Wheels are then chemical dipped / paint stripped.
  • The alloy is then placed in the oven and de-gassed.
  • Once the correct baking time is reached, primer is then added.
  • The alloy is then painted to the desired color and put back in the oven to bake at the correct temperature to finalise the repair.
  • Powder clear.

When refitted to the vehicle, all wheel nuts are torqued to the correct manufacturer N/M

OTHER SERVICES

As well as repairing alloy wheels we can also offer bespoke colour changes. We are happy to discuss your own colour ideas with you, to achieve the finish you are looking for, so please don't hesitate to contact us with your requirements.

Diamond cuts

Diamond cutting is a process which involves mounting the painted alloy wheel onto our lathe and cutting through the paint and an extremely small amount of metal off the face off the wheel revealing a highly reflective polished metal finish.

Once this is done we then lacquer the wheel to seal the finish.
Although powder coating is our most popular and durable alloy wheel refurbishment service, diamond cut finishes are also a very desired finish. Many cars are fitted with diamond cut finished wheels
Diamond cut wheels can only be refurbished a number of times as too much alloy would eventually be removed. You may wish to consider our powder coat refurbishment as a durable and long lasting refurbishment method instead.

With our in house CNC diamond cutting lathe we will provide you with the highest quality finish and the quickest turnaround time.
